This breakout session will provide a comprehensive overview of the State and Local Cybersecurity Grant Program (SLCGP), highlighting its benefits to local entities such as counties, municipalities, and K-12 schools. We will recap Maine's initiatives and services from the first year of the program and delve into the investment priorities for Year 2 (FY2023), including EDR, .gov domain migration, and cyber incident response planning. Additionally, we will outline the participation and opt-in process for local entities.

This session will look at how AI is starting to impact your network from a management perspective.  We will look at what tools are available today and what we should expect in the future and how you can prepare.  We will also take a look at how AI is improving network security and discuss some of the new tools available to better secure your network.

This presentation details our experience in pursuing and securing our spot in the FCC Schools and Libraries Cybersecurity Pilot Program, outlining the strategic rationale behind our application. We explain how we utilized the NIST Cybersecurity Framework to identify our unique cybersecurity priorities and make informed decisions on what was most critical for our school district. Finally, we demonstrate how aligning our priorities with a cybersecurity framework helped us build a robust, industry-aligned approach to protect our educational environment.

The Maine Information and Analysis Center (MIAC) is a program of the Maine Department of Public Safety. MIAC's mission is to collect, analyze, and appropriately share intelligence between the federal government and the State of Maine.
This session overviews the mission of MIAC and its connected support for K12 critical infrastructure, especially in light of cyber challenges to public safety.

This session will highlight updates from the Student Data Privacy Consortium. Many Maine schools implement the state access services to A4L, an online tool that leverages national work in data privacy agreements.
The session will cover contract language pertinent to this year’s national incidents. The session will cover the “how to” of participation and the advancements in the privacy landscape.
